The System Exchange
the System retains a very strong degree of control over the economy of Pearalos at large and has implemented a myriad number of mechanics to enforce its economic hegemony over the world. The most famous of these is the System Exchange - the all-important store that offers a wide variety of improvements and upgrades for a Corewalker's progression, and also features functionality that allows for interaction with the mortal economy itself, which is detailed below. Perhaps even more impactful, however, is the Silver Crown, and its variants - the Gold Sovereign and Copper Shilling - which are currencies accepted all across Pearalos due to the fact that the System itself backs their value up and supports it.
The System Exchange
The most important element of the Corewalker Interface in general is the System Exchange, which is the system's store, offering a wide variety of system boons to purchase for Exchange Experience. These boons include Essences, Skills, Progression Path Resets, Multi-Path Unlocks, Multi-Path Cultivation Unlocks, and so much more, and generally it's quite affordable - with the exception of resets and multi-path unlocks, with the multi-path cultivation unlock being the most expensive option offered by the exchange.
Generally, the System Exchange only accepts Exchange Experience for the options offered by the System itself, but the Corewalker Exchange section of the System Exchange bucks these trends quite a bit and offers a very distinct opportunity indeed, which is described in more detail below.
Crowns & The Economy
As already stated, the System enforces a universally-recognized economy across all of Pearalos, and it has done so through the recognition and adoption of a core set of three currencies from the ancient past - which some historians believe to be from an ancient realm that the System favoured and incorporated the innovations of into itself. As a notable distinction, however, the System itself doesn't exclusively create these currencies (though it can, for Quests and Dungeons, for example), but it does back their value with its own rules and ensures they remain a steady and consistent form of currency, experiencing minimal value variation, and this has made it very easily adopted.
The currencies of Pearalos are the Silver Crown, the Gold Sovereign, and the Copper Shilling, with the Silver Crown serving as the 'baseline' form of currency, the Sovereign being its larger denomination, being worth 12 Crowns, and the Shilling being its smaller denomination, with 24 Shillings equating the value of one Crown. There are very few regional currencies in Pearalos due to the System's adoption and pushing of the Crown ecosystem as its predominant economic expression, and those that do exist have their value invariably measured against that of the Crown.
The Corewalker Exchange
In most cases, the System itself makes no attempt to interact with the economy beyond this point; it makes no attempt to render traditional marketplaces and deals moot, as it has never sought to replace them, but it does offer a means to play a more overt role in the mortal economics of Pearalos, and this is the purpose of the Corewalker Exchange, one of the extensions of the System Exchange that deals with mortal material exchanges.
The System Exchange itself only houses the System's own offerings - as noted above - but the Corewalker Exchange is different, and it can interact with a few means of accessing it - namely the Exchange Merchant Profession and the Exchange Listing Perk, among others. These offer some of the only manners in which someone can leverage the reach and power of the System's services to list their items for sale. By default, this only targets the local area of the Corewalker, but with further investment into the options that deal with the Corewalker Exchange, it can become possible to target larger regions and eventually entire continents to list wares for sale.
This is a rather notable paradigm, as such professions are very high level and rare, and the perks are locked to high level non-combat investments as well, with both existing near the end of their respective progression paths, but their ability to project economic influence is very significant, as they have an incredible degree of reach... of course, the System doesn't magically deliver these listed items to buyers, as that would be interjecting its powers into the world more than it deems acceptable.
Instead, that job falls to Courier Professions, which can all interact directly with the Corewalker Exchange to receive special Courier Quests to deliver the wares from the seller to the buyer, known as Exchange Contracts. These contracts are the same as regular courier quests, but receive more Experience from the System to reward and compensate the prioritization of its own mechanics.
Like most aspects of the System's mechanics, the System itself enforces and ensures that fairness and good will from all parties are exercised as part of trades and courier contracts that use the Corewalker Exchange - as it is the system's domain that is being used exclusively, and it ensures complete fairness.
