Come, foul Daemon, prepare to meet your end.

The angels are easily the most famous ikarian race, as they guard the divine realm of Elysium and act as its stewards and the servants of the gods that reside upon its vast mountain - Mt. Celestia. There are broadly only two types of angels; Elysian Angels that all gods wield, and the Aggeloi, which are only controlled by the actual divine realm of Elysium itself, almost as a... divine insurance policy as it were.

Angels are known for their excellent divine powers and their feathered wings and halos, as well as their martial might, and while the appearance of each god's Elysian Angels varies considerably, their broad access to divine magic does not, though angels do also get their deity's field of unique magic as well, such as the Elysian Angels of the goddess Iuno having space magic.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Elysian Angels come in a different subtype for each pantheon and god within a pantheon that they serve, as each god heavily influences how their angels look, act and what they can do. All elysian angels possess unfiltered access to divine magic - as well as their god's magic - and a biological trait that allows them to completely ward off normal amounts of Dark Magic that would attempt to corrupt them, though copious amounts of it - such as from the daemons - can prove... problematic.

The Aggeloi, by contrast, have been likened to divine superweapons, and that is very much what they are. Colossal angelic creatures that are the sole dominion of Elysium - following the Godscourge in ancient history that saw their usage by gods to nearly wipe all deities from existence entirely - the Aggeloi are a truly terrifying force to behold; nearly entirely immune to any form of damage and capable of killing anything that is known of - with the exception of Atronach itself - and that obeys the laws of reality, the Aggeloi are so destructive that just one is kept in Elysium at any given time, and that single Aggelos could completely scour the cosmos of life, should it ever be used in anger.

Notably, the Dark Lord and the Hell Queen both have Aggeloi (albeit a Daemonic Aggelos and a Devilish Aggelos, respectively, bringing the total of Aggeloi up to 3), but in a rare case of all three competing sides agreeing on something, nobody deploys their Aggeloi in anger against the other side, they are effectively a divine form of mutually-assured destruction, instead used to ward off the forces of the Void Lords.

Behavioural Patterns

Angels are extremely varied in terms of behaviour, but are most known for their sense of justice and valour that prevails throughout their being, which instils them to take the righteous path and err towards being morally good at all times, though fallen angels tend to invert this tend and gain far more free will, often falling in with the Dark Lord or the Hell Queen.

The Aggeloi, by contrast, are monsters. Incapable of perceiving friend from foe, the Aggeloi are kept under control by the divine control of their controlling god - Elysium itself for the divine Aggelos, and the Dark Lord and Hell Queen for each of their Aggeloi, respectively. Should they ever be unleashed, they would prove destructive beyond comparison, and hold nothing back.

Additional Information

Average Intellect

Angels aren't as frighteningly intelligent as the daemons, but they are very intelligent, and unlike most daemons have no inhibitions when it comes to using their intellect to its fullest; they're cunning strategists, tactical to a fault and in general are known for their tactical acumen and intellect.

The Aggeloi, however, are an... interesting case; they appear to exhibit minimal intelligence and base intellect, but that is merely superficial, as within their esoteric, unknowable minds resides a level of intellect and acumen that is without any equal, only it is single-mindedly focused on combat, analysing combat options, how to best destroy its opponents in the most efficient ways, and so on. It's also believed - but not confirmed, as multiple have never been used - that Aggeloi can exhibit a form of natural hive mindedness, sharing tactical information between one another to best take on threats as a group.

Perception & Sensory Capabilities

Angels and Aggeloi alike are blessed with the most powerful and extensive suite of sensory capabilities of all ikarian races, being able to detect any being - be they alive or dead - within several hundred miles of them, and the Aggeloi can detect, track and process detecting every being in the same planar realm as them, all at once.
